Over the last year, David Ogilvy has been looking afresh at his roots, and has started an exploration of what he describes as the Scottish American Songbook. Having no choice but to play all the instruments himself, withthe exception of double bass, played by Andy Hamill, he has put together a highly personal take on some classic songs, and also recorded some of his own new songs in the same way. Pedal steel, dobro, mandolin and trescubana fill these subtle melodies. Look out for more releases in the coming months.
