Dave Sharp is a founding member and guitarist of the Iconic 80's stadium band The Alarm (back playing selected dates together again)
When it all blew up and blew out, Dave set out "Looking For America" in the spirit of Woody Guthrie, coast to coast, border to border, doing some hard travelling he eventually put down roots in New Orleans sharpening his chops and learning more licks on Bourbon Street and Frenchmans earning his name and his living among the best.
When he came home he came "Barn Storming" with his New York based Rockabilly Band of that name, armed with his classic "Hard Travelling" album.his New York based Rockabilly Band
That was early 1990's and that's when he and "The Barn Stormers" played The Dornoch Festival for Rob Ellen's Medicine Music to celibate the opening of The Dornoch Bridge. It was the start of a beautiful friendship.
Since then both gentlemen have done a thousand gigs and travelled 100,000 miles in search of and in support of musical community and in Dave's case a song in his heart and this new album "Spirit Days" in his sights.
Rob says "Dave Sharp is a hero of mine, he approaches every gig as if its his biggest ever, if its with Willie Nelson at Farm Aid or the Market Bar Inverness Dave is the first one to the sound check is always on the money and delivers all he has in the best way he can, the man is a hard travelling, steel driving, machine, simply one of the best and most original songster guitarists we have ever produced"
