and to cap offthe collection of which I am truly so proud our friend Paul Barrere of Little feat offered us his remake of the Little Feat Classic, Paul and Little Feat Duo partner Fred Tackett have played house Concerts for us here in the Highlands, he told me then that he remembers a line his father used to sing around the house: “Ya know that you’re over the hill, when your mind makes a promise that your body can’t fill”.
It was a line that Paul’s father heard from a comic when he was acting in vaudeville theatre in New York City, In singing it around the house, he passed the line on to Paul. Paul would go on to make a song called “Old Folks Boogie” based around that line, which was released in a 1977 by Little Feat on‘Time Loves a Hero’.
Today, Paul works with Roger Cole at Better Daze Music, where the two are constantly creating new and innovative tunes Roger recently asked Paul to re-create “Old Folks Boogie”, and Paul agreed.
As a life long Little Feet fan i am so proud to have this song round of our Looking For Europe Collection 2019 and we will be looking for Little Feat in Europe this year on their 50th anniversary tour .The original “Old Folks Boogie” was released over 40 years ago, but folks can download it here pay what you like to help keep the wheels on The Medicine Show, thank you, and thank you Paul Barrere
