Dougie Burns is a stalwart of the Scottish music scene having played in various bands and set ups for almost 40 years.

He presently writes for and fronts a seven piece Rock n Roll band, Dougie Burns & The Cadillacs. He is also one half of blues duo Bluebelly and tours and plays major festivals around the UK with both bands and as a solo artist.
A song written with English hit maker Boo Hewerdine at a recent Songwriters Retreat, otherwise unreleased and exclusive to this compilation.

For the last 3 or 4 years Dougie has hosted a regular busy and successful acoustic music session in The Velocity Cafe in Inverness. And has hosted House Concerts (we garden parties at his home in Inverness, and is a committed Van Man and Musical Stravaige. Dougie and fellow Highlander Davy Cowan are the first Scots artists to join Medicine Show Records and Moose Honcho Rob Ellen for an American Stravaig, we welcome them on board.

Both Bluebelly and The Cadillacs have albums out available on Apple, Spotify , Amazon and other digital outlets.

Dougie Burns’s solo album, California Cadillac,with many well known guests from around the country is also available from all digital outlets.
The title track, California Cadillac, with the most infectious chorus ever features backing vocals from lead off artist Davy Cowan, Dave Fleming (also on here) and Stevie Smith . With Harmonica from Stevie Smith (Ruthless Blues) , Slide Guitar from Wolfstone’s Andy Murray, Bass from Gill Anderson and drums from Connor Meeks.

The album was produced in the Highlands by Les Macpherson.
